Get Involved on Campus

One of the main functions of the NC State LGBTQ Pride Center is to help LGBTQ and Allied individuals connect and form community. The staff of the Center provides a conduit to various student organizations, coordinates a network for faculty and staff, and keeps alumni engaged and aware of what’s happening on campus. Aces and Aros

Aces and Aros is a club serving the needs of students who are questioning, who identify as members of the asexual and/or aromantic communities and their allies at NC State. Interested in joining? Meetings for A-Spec and questioning people to share their experiences and meet their community are held bi-weekly on Sunday from 1 pm – 2:30 pm in the Pride Center or visit Get Involved for contact information.

Bi/Pan

The purpose of this student organization serves the needs of students who identify along the bisexual/pansexual and biromantic/panromantic spectra and their allies. Bi/Pan provides a safe space for bisexual, pansexual, flexible, queer, curious, or questioning students to feel affirmed, address challenges and build community through networking and solidarity via topic-led discussions and sharing experiences among other students with similar identities. GLBT Community Alliance

GLBT Community Alliance (GLBTCA, pronounced jah-blit-kah gull-bit-kuh) is NC State University’s student group dedicated to promoting equality and unity for Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer, Intersex, Questioning, and Straight Ally students, faculty, and staff on our campus and in our community. Our goal is to be supportive and proactive via educational and social events for our diverse campus body. The group is a safe and supportive space for people of all sexual orientations, gender identities, cultural backgrounds, life stages, and beliefs. Interested in joining? Ultraviolet

Ultraviolet is a student-run organization serving the needs of sapphic individuals at NC State. Our objective is to create a community for sapphic and questioning students through fun activities, events, and the occasional discussion. Check our calendar for meeting details. oSTEM

Out in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (oSTEM) is a professional and social organization for LGBTQ+ students and allies in STEM fields. Various meeting topics, events, and programming focus on aspects of professional development and support as well as community building for LGBTQ+ students and allies in STEM majors and entering into STEM fields. QTPOC

QTPOC (Queer and Transgender People of Color) centers the lived experiences of African American, Hispanic/Latinx, Asian American, Native American, multi-racial, and communities of color who identify as LGBTQIA+. QTPOC provides a space for students to share their experiences, discuss how their racial/ethnic and LGBTQ identities influence each other and connect with other students who are navigating multiple communities and what that can mean in terms of feeling welcome, accepted, and included.

T-Files

The mission of T-Files is to provide a space for transgender, non-binary, gender non-conforming, and gender questioning students to affirm and affirm their identities, build community, and create a welcoming environment at NC State. Participating students will be able to share their experiences, foster positive relationships, and become advocates for one another’s safety, health, and well-being. Meetings are held on the first Tuesday of the month from 6 pm – 8 pm in the Pride Center Lounge. Faculty & Staff

The LGBTQ Pride Center aims to provide ongoing support for LGBTQ faculty and staff on campus. To fulfill that mission, the Pride Center coordinates the LGBTQ Faculty and Staff Network in order to provide an opportunity for the faculty and staff to connect and create community, supply feedback about campus climate, support and mentor LGBTQ students, and to connect with prospective LGBTQ faculty and staff members. To join the network please complete this form LGBTQ Faculty and Staff Network. For additional questions, contact us at pridecenter@ncsu.edu.

Alumni

The LGBTQ Pride Center is actively working to reconnect with NC State’s LGBTQ Alumni. We hope to be able to connect current students with prospective mentors in their fields, identify possible alumni speakers for our annual Lavender Graduation, find out important information for our LGBTQ History @ NCSU Archive, and keep our former students updated on all of the amazing things our Center and our students are doing.
